    Day 1

    • Science Club meeting on Thursday afterschool in Rm. 203.  If you are interested in becoming an officer you must attend.
    • Homework center is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2:30-3:30pm in Rm. 216,
    • Modified Girls Soccer tryouts today @ 3:30 @ Anne Hutch.
    • Pep Rally this Friday @ 7pm in the EHS gym.  Events: Tug of war, relay race, musical chairs.  Come and support your sports team.  Bonfire after Pep Rally.

    Day 2

    • Middle School Homework Center will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 12th in Rm. 216, 2:30-3:30pm.  Homework Center will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week.
    • Interested in participating in after school chorus should sign-up on the call board outside the chorus room.  Audition's will take place next Tuesday9/12, Wednesday9/13 and Thursday9/14.  Sign up for a slot while they are still available. Auditions are for the purpose of placement in the group.
    • Do you like to make movies or videos?  Have a Youtube channel? Sign up for the 88 Film Continuum.  This is a filmmaking competition where you and your friends have 3 days to make a short 4-7 minute film.  Informational meeting will be next Tuesday 9/12 in the library after school.  Contact Mr. Goldstein if you can't make the meeting in his office in back of the library.

    Poetry Reading/Awards ceremony at the Tuckahoe Public Library

    There was a Poetry Reading/Awards ceremony on Monday, June 12th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tuckahoe Public Library. Students read their poetry to an audience of parents, librarians, teachers, and the Mayor himself.

    National Spanish Examination Winners

    2017 National Spanish Examination WinnersEarlier this spring, some of Mrs. Shay’s 8th grade Spanish students participated in the 2017 National Spanish Examination. The National Spanish Examination is an on-line test/contest that is given each year by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese. The purpose of the NSE is:

    • To recognize achievement and to promote proficiency in the study of Spanish.
    • To stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish.
    • To prepare students for the Spanish AP and SAT II

    Judith Matteoni and Caroline Coughlin (top row) achieved a Gold Medal, which means they scored above a 95%. Rosaline Althaus, Sofia Damasco, Elizaveta Grande, Joanna Lumanas, Sophia Sabelja, and Alexa Cantreva (bottow row) achieved a Silver Medal, which means they scored above an 85%. Congratulations! What a wonderful accomplishment.

    Medical Documentation for Students Entering Grade 7

    Please be advised that in September 2017, all public and private school students entering seventh grade in New York State must be vaccinated against meningococcal disease in order to attend school. In addition, they are required by law to submit evidence of having had a current physical exam, including immunizations, done within the past year (dated October 2016 and thereafter). We are requesting a dental certificate as well.

    All physical exams and immunization records are due October 1, 2017. You may send them to us at the above address any time before this date.
