Attached is the schedule of yearbook photos that will be taken for the 2016-2017 EMS yearbook. If your child is involved in any of the clubs listed, please make a note of it on your calendars. Pictures will be taken during homeroom. As you can see from the list, we have several clubs at EMS, and many of them are quite large. Because of that, please understand that we will not be able to reschedule any of these pictures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sixth grade Middle School students in the classes of Stephanie Leone and Cara Dippolito recently took Virtual Reality (VR) tours of Egypt using two apps, Sites in VR and Google Street View. The technology of the VR goggles/headsets allowed them to examine famous landmarks, visit sites of interest and explore a location’s sights and sounds.
This past week, Mrs. Logan's and Mrs. Astarita's 8th grade Italian classes had a wonderful opportunity to partake in an Italian cultural trip. The students visited the Italian Cultural Center / Generoso Pope Building to learn about the holiday traditions of Italians. They got to ride in the Tuckahoe trolley and while there they viewed a screening of "Christmas in the Italian Arts" had a lesson from one of the center historians and got a chance to view the Foundations' enormous Presepio. This was followed up with a hands on pizza making class, where the students learned how to make pizza and even had a chance to make and eat their own!
